As a Quality Engineer at SPM Oil & Gas, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role is critical in maintaining our API Q1 10th Edition certification and supporting our commitment to delivering zero‑defect products. The Quality Engineer is also responsible for reviewing customer quality requirements prior to the execution of manufacturing and operational processes to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and standards.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with API Q1 and ISO 9001.
- Document procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
- Coordinate internal audits to ensure compliance with the QMS and follow up on corrective actions.
- Liaise with external certification bodies for audits and re‑certification.
- Review customer requirements as part of the contract review process.
- Develop quality inspection test points.
- Participate in project kick‑off meetings.
- Respond to specific customer concerns on behalf of sales.
- Ensure all process activities are in full compliance with API Q1 10th Edition and API 6A 21st Edition requirements.
- Stay updated on the latest revisions of API standards and incorporate changes into supplier quality processes.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Project and Procurement, Manufacturing, and Sales to resolve supplier quality issues and support new product introductions.
- Proficient in English language.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing with a minimum of 3 years of experience in quality management.
- Strong technical quality management expertise (e.g., QMS, quality tools, engineering principles).
- Excellent audit skills for systematic supplier evaluation.
- Strong interpersonal abilities including communication, problem‑solving, and negotiation to ensure supplier compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Proficient in systematic problem‑solving, employing methodologies such as 8D and root cause analysis, with strong data analysis and collaborative skills.
- Good knowledge of API 6A products and quality requirements.
- Knowledge of dimensional inspections, equipment requirements, non‑destructive examination, hardness testing, positive material identification, welding inspections, etc.
- Strong communication, cooperation, and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers, especially senior leadership.
- Good analytical, diagnostic, and judgment skills, and good computer skills.
- Strong motivation and quick learning ability.
This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant, including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
