Job Title: Truck and Heavy Equipment Mechanic –

Department: Maintenance/Workshop

Reports To: Head Department

Job Summary: The Workshop Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the mechanical workshop, ensuring that all maintenance, repair, and servicing tasks for truck fleet, vehicles and machinery are performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards. This role also involves managing a team of mechanics and coordinating resources to achieve operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Supervise the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the truck fleet, including engine systems, braking systems, suspension, and transmission. Ensure all work is conducted following company standards and safety regulations. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety protocols and company policies. Ensure all equipment and tools meet safety standards before use. Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for workshop staff.
  • Resource Management: Monitor inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and materials; coordinate procurement as necessary. Ensure optimal utilization of resources to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, ensuring proper documentation. Prepare and submit reports on workshop performance, incidents, and budget utilization to management.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnose technical issues and provide guidance on solutions. Act as a point of escalation for complex mechanical challenges or emergencies.
  • Qualifications
    • Vocational high school (SMK) or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience in truck/heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Strong understanding in diagnosing and repairing truck systems, including diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
    • Proficiency in safety regulations, workshop management practices, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
    • Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
    Work Environment

    This role is based in a workshop environment, involving physical presence near machinery and vehicles. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory for safety.
