About the roleWe are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our engineering team at Scanjet Batam. This is a full-time position based in Batam, Riau Islands. As a Software Developer, you will play a crucial role on software development, primarily involving the development and maintenance of internal software tools used in the production and service of TLG systems and related applications. The position may also include development of software components integrated into TLG products.
You will be part of the TLG software development team, where a high standard of quality is expected and achieved through close collaboration with colleagues across multiple locations. This includes daily cooperation with software developers in Gothenburg and Porsgrunn, as well as software test and project engineers in Batam.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Delivering high-quality software through structured and well-documented development practices
- Maintaining daily communication with developers outside of Batam
- Close coordination with the local team leader to align priorities, progress, and deliveries
As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for contributing across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements to delivery.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including:
- Requirements analysis and breakdown
- Detailed software design
- Implementation (coding)
- Unit testing
- Software/system testing
- Technical documentation
- Collaborate closely with end users of the applications to identify, analyze, and resolve issues
- Work together with Product Owners to refine requirements and identify new functional needs
- Cooperate with the development and test teams to identify and resolve issues early in the development process
- Perform necessary administrative tasks to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to the Scrum process in Jira
- Actively participate in all relevant software development meetings, including sprint ceremonies, with particular focus on the daily stand-up with the software development team
- Fluent in English both written and spoken is a must
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in software development using C/C++
- Solid experience working with Git in a collaborative development environment
- Good understanding of system architecture and the interaction between software and hardware components
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot, interpret test results, and identify root causes
- Ability to work independently, make well‑foundated technical decisions, and drive tasks forward
- Well‑organized, structured, and methodical in your way of working
- Experience working in an Agile development environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience with testing, debugging tools, or embedded systems (if applicable to your team)
- Experience working with SQL based database applications.
