** Extended Care Worker

** Reports to**:
Principal
** Primary Function:
** The Extended Care Worker serves Immanuel Lutheran Church and School (ILCS) by providing childcare before and after school.

* Primary Responsibilities:

** 1. Act as a Christian role model for all school and church workers, volunteers, students, and families, sharing the Gospel of Jesus as Savior and Friend
2. Embrace, support and participate in the team ministry of ILCS
3. Provide for the safety and supervision of each child in the Extended Care Program, using positive guidance techniques to support each child's self-esteem
4. Maintain a varied program of activities appropriate for students in a well-ordered environment
5. Maintain positive communication with parents, school staff and students
6. Provide for the safety and cleanliness of equipment and facilities used for extended care
7. Other duties as requested

** Compensation and Benefits:**$17.44 per hour  school year);

1. Being an active member of ILCS or willingness to become an active member is preferred
2. Embrace the mission and ministry of ILCS
3. Be at least 16 years old
4. Possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in relating to adults and children
5. Able to safely lift 30 lbs. and perform work requiring the ability to stoop and bend
6. Able to maintain professional standards by keeping the confidentiality of children, families, staff, and the program
7. Successful completion of a background check
