The RoleWe’re seeking a talented Refrigeration Systems Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced refrigeration systems for our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring our systems meet performance, safety and environmental standards while driving innovation and efficiency.
What You’ll Do- Design and develop refrigeration systems including chillers, air conditioners, evaporators, condensers and piping layouts.
- Perform thermal and mechanical calculations to optimize energy efficiency and performance.
- Select components and materials based on cost, durability and manufacturing requirements.
- Oversee creation of detailed CAD drawings and schematics for new installations and retrofits.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to integrate systems into workflows.
- Support testing and validation of performance under simulated conditions.
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, UL, CE, EPA and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Support manufacturing installation and commissioning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or HVAC Engineering.
- 3‑5 years of experience in refrigeration system design within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works) and simulation tools.
- Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat‑transfer principles.
- Familiarity with industrial refrigerants and pressure vessel design.
- Effective project management and documentation skills.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with diverse teams.
- Preferred knowledge of PLCs and automated control systems.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States.
- You must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% annually.
- This is an on‑site position at our facility in Batavia OH.
