Human Resources Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Batavia, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and a passion for supporting HR operations. You will play a key role in maintaining employee records, assisting with hiring processes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

• Maintain accurate records of employee attendance and leave to support payroll processing.
• Assist the HR Manager in developing policies, managing hiring activities, and overseeing salary administration.
• Publish job postings online, screen candidates, and coordinate interview schedules.
• Organize and facilitate onboarding and training sessions for new hires.
• Manage calendars and schedules for the HR department, including meetings and departmental events.
• Ensure compliance with relevant employment and labor regulations.
• Support pre-employment screening processes as required.
• Collaborate with team members to address employee relations matters.
• Utilize HRIS systems to maintain and update employee data efficiently.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources or a similar role.
• Proficiency in HR administration and HRIS systems.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding processes and employee relations.
• Experience with conducting background checks and pre-employment screenings.
• Familiarity with employment and labor laws.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
