Role Location and Schedule

Location: Batavia production plant

SHIFT

SCHEDULE:

Training typically on days 7am-3pm

Post training 12hr 4-3 Schedule Straight Nights

Pay and Benefits

Pay:

The starting rate of pay for this position is $40.10 + $2 shift premium

Role Overview

The Certified Electrician position is responsible for installing and maintaining wiring, control, and lighting systems. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers. Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.

What You Get to Do
  • Facilitate and enforce all the company safety policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined.
  • Provide daily maintenance for the plant, perform mechanical, electrical, and preventive (PM) maintenance functions.
  • Maintain electrical maintenance in emergency break down situations.
  • Participate with maintenance and manufacturing supervision in establishing priorities for routine maintenance assignments.
  • Provide daily electrical maintenance, repair and installation of equipment.
  • Provide technical advice to machine operators and manufacturing supervisors on matters relating to equipment modifications and time estimates on maintenance repairs.
  • Document changes to electrical drawings.
  • Assist in layout, installation, movement or dismantling of plant equipment.
  • Assist in inventories of needed maintenance parts and tools to keep manufacturing equipment running efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge of machine operation and capabilities to assist machine operators.
  • Work in a team environment and, when needed, work independently with self-motivation.
  • Maintain knowledge of National Electrical Codes for proper installation and protection of electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, wiring schematics and electrical symbols.
  • Knowledge of Aims / SAP is a plus.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • 1 year prior electrical experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment, assist others when needed and lead by example while focusing on safety, quality and productivity

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, walk, lift and climb frequently throughout the day
  • 100% of working hours in a manufacturing production environment with majority standing and moving around equipment
  • Personal protective equipment is required at all times
