Job Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensure punctuality for all courses.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate on the development and revision of the nursing program’s philosophy, organizational framework, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing curricula.
  • Foster an intellectual environment that encourages critical thinking.
  • Select and maintain appropriate clinical learning environments, including labs and check-offs.
  • Utilize effective evaluation techniques to assess teaching effectiveness and student performance.
  • Stay current with trends in nursing education and practice.
  • Maintain expertise through ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in faculty and committee assignments, including monthly faculty meetings.
  • Demonstrate and uphold high standards of professional nursing practice.
  • Contribute to recruitment, academic counseling, and program advising.
  • Maintain accurate student records.
  • Collaborate with faculty as part of a team-based approach to teaching.
  • Keep educational equipment and resources up to date.
  • Fulfill teaching responsibilities in both online and traditional tracks.
  • Complete required clinical hours.
  • Ensure student-centered learning in all courses.
  • Post weekly coursework and learning materials before the scheduled content week.
  • Complete all grading promptly for both theory and practicum courses.
  • Collaborate with healthcare partners to enhance clinical placements and preceptorships, aligning these opportunities with curriculum objectives.
  • Participate in student recruitment efforts for the high school Practical Nursing program.
  • Provide ongoing student success coaching and academic mentoring to support retention, progression, and program completion for students enrolled in the high school PN program.
