Refrigeration Helper - Level 1

The Refrigeration Helper is responsible for assisting the Refrigeration Operator with the preventative and predictive maintenance of the refrigeration equipment in the facility. Assist with Boiler and steam system maintenance.

• Assist in maintaining equipment and processing service records.
• Document services, repairs, temperature readings and other information pertinent to the ongoing support of the refrigeration systems and Boiler and steam systems.
• Assist operator with preventative and predictive maintenance on all refrigeration systems and equipment, including Boiler and steam systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

• High school or equivalent
• Previous experience in refrigeration, maintenance, or similar skill set
• Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) membership w/Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) or ability to obtain certification
• Able to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License
• Valid Driver’s License
• Speaking, reading & writing in English
• Skilled in the use of hand tools
• Preferred:
  High Pressure Steam Boiler operation
• Preferred:
  Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certification
• Preferred:
  Ammonia Refrigeration (2 stage system)
• Preferred:
  Process Safety Management (PSM) understanding
