Job Description
Summary:
Leading a team to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives while meeting operating policy objectives. Moderate autonomy and high levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage master planning, material processes and systems; prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs; ensure alignment with production plan and KPIs; optimize inventory and process improvements.
- Lead a small to medium team of professionals; influence strategy development for the area of responsibility, resource control, and policy formulation.
- Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services; stay informed of industry trends.
- Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks in manufacturing, technology, or engineering; assess quality of information, ask pertinent questions, offer new solutions, and provide recommendations.
- Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resources, risk, and/or complexity; communicate difficult concepts; influence others’ options on particular topics.
- Travel may be required to work with suppliers or customers within the supply chain.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing/materials).
