SIC Shipping/Receiving Material Handler/FT (GE BATES)

Southern Industrial Constructors seeks a Material Handler for an ongoing assignment at the Batesville, MS site. Hired candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after 3 months.

Provide necessary parts and materials to the manufacturing area in a timely manner.

• Move material to and from warehouse.
• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Safely load products onto freight carrier vehicles.
• Convey materials and items from receiving to storage or other designated areas and document transactions.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks or shelves.
• Perform required kitting processes.
• Complete all clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, issuing, and delivering materials and equipment.
• Maintain documentation and traceability of material.
• Have a general understanding of inventory control measures.
• Complete paperwork to verify receipt and accuracy of delivery.
• Enter and maintain records in the computer.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Balance multiple tasks and priorities.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
• Perform safety inspections in accordance with SIC policy.
• Complete all safety and general job training as required.
• Observe SIC/Client safety processes and procedures at all times.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

• Forklift operating and box truck driving experience is required.

• Work in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, warehouses; frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
• Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Respond to voice commands and alerts.
• Use all required PPE equipment.
• Perform strenuous physical demands safely.
• Operate all involved equipment and tools safely.
• Able to stand for long periods, bend, work on ladders, and in awkward positions.
