You’ll work with a diverse client base, providing high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services, while developing your expertise in a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
The RoleAs Senior Accountant
, you’ll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients across various sectors, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and offering trusted business and tax advice. You’ll play an active role in supporting junior staff and contributing to the smooth running of the accounts department.
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Preparing management accounts, cash flow statements, and forecasting
- Drafting and reviewing corporation tax computations and VAT returns
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff, offering guidance and technical support
- Liaising directly with clients to discuss results and resolve queries
- Ensuring assignments are completed accurately, on time, and within budget
- Assisting partners and managers with advisory and business support projects
- Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards and tax regulations
You’ll be a confident, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys client interaction and thrives in a team-focused environment.
You will:
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Have at least 3 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice
- Possess a strong technical understanding of UK accounting standards and tax principles
- Be capable of managing a varied portfolio of clients independently
- Be experienced in preparing accounts using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books
, or similar - Have excellent communication skills and a proactive, organised approach
- Enjoy mentoring junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture
Experience in business advisory or client portfolio management would be an advantage.
