Tax Accountant

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (DOE)
Hours: Full‑time, Permanent

A well‑established and forward‑thinking accountancy practice in Wimborne is looking for a motivated Personal Tax Accountant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their tax career who wants to develop within a supportive, collaborative environment that values professional development and high‑quality client service.

You’ll work with a varied portfolio of clients, gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work, with full support to progress towards managing your own portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage personal tax returns — Prepare Self Assessment Tax Returns for individuals, HNWIs, landlords, and sole traders.

  • Develop your own portfolio — Grow towards managing your own client base with ongoing support.

  • Provide tailored tax advice — Support clients with buy‑to‑let taxation, foreign income, residency, and Capital Gains Tax.

  • Act as a trusted point of contact — Liaise with clients and HMRC, handling queries and supporting tax enquiries.

  • Ensure accurate compliance — Deliver high‑quality, accurate tax compliance work.

What You’ll Need
  • 9–12 months’ experience within an accountancy practice

  • Good working knowledge of UK Ltd Tax, Personal Tax, and Self Assessment

  • Commercial awareness and a client‑first mindset

  • Proficiency with IRIS (preferred) and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills

  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to grow

Preferred (not essential)
  • ATT qualified or studying

  • Interest in progressing towards CTA
