Job Description & How to Apply Below

ORX is the largest operational and non-financial risk association for financial services firms in the world, currently employing circa 70 dedicated professionals and growing. We work closely with over 140 organisations and thousands of risk professionals globally to advance and champion the discipline. We were set up by a small group of banks over 20 years ago to enable them to anonymously share highly confidential operational risk loss data.

Since then, we've grown and expanded to offer more services to our members, subscribers and the wider financial services sector. Alongside loss data sharing, we now carry out research on key topics, provide a range of collaboration opportunities and develop standards and references to drive innovation and support our community in an increasingly digitalised financial services environment. Our activities span the banking, insurance and asset management sectors.

About the role

At ORX, our values shape how we work and the impact we create. We are committed to delivering meaningful change that enhances the experience of our members, colleagues and stakeholders, while maintaining high standards of quality, collaboration and innovation.

In this Head of Digital Transformation role, you will lead the development and delivery of ORX's digital transformation strategy, driving initiatives that improve systems, processes and ways of working across the organisation. You will bring curiosity and a forward-thinking mindset, identifying opportunities to harness technology, data and digital solutions to increase efficiency, improve user experience and support organisational growth.

As a strategic leader, you will empower others by fostering collaboration across teams, building strong relationships and creating an inclusive environment where people feel supported to embrace change. You will balance strategic thinking with hands on delivery, ensuring transformation initiatives are effectively planned, prioritised and implemented to deliver measurable business value.

The role is highly visible and collaborative, working closely with colleagues, members and external partners to shape and deliver ORX's digital future. You will be responsible for leading complex transformation programmes, driving continuous improvement and embedding sustainable digital capabilities that support the organisation's long-term objectives.

Importantly, this is a role for a leader who takes ownership of delivery, ensuring transformation initiatives are aligned to organisational priorities, delivered successfully and generate tangible benefits for ORX and its members.

To be successful as Head of Digital Transformation, we are looking for someone who:
  • Is a pragmatic "builder" who enjoys delivering real outcomes rather than producing strategy alone.
  • Is curious, enthusiastic and excited by new technology.
  • Learns quickly and is willing to develop deep knowledge of ORX and its members.
  • Enjoys working in a small organisation where leadership often means doing as well as directing.
  • Can influence through collaboration rather than hierarchy.
  • Brings energy, optimism and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Has the ambition and potential to grow into broader technology leadership over time.
Our culture

We have a great culture and we're proud of our people and the high engagement demonstrated year after year in our employee survey. We recognise and reward hard work, whilst respecting work-life balance. Our hybrid working sees our team getting together when necessary. Days in the office are a minimum of 15 per quarter, which enables our teams to establish a working pattern that suits us, and you.

We recognise that family time, being there for the school run and enjoying life at home is as important as collaborating with others, socialising as a team, and maximising the informal learning and innovation that happens when we're together in the same place.

What else do you need to know?

As we manage and have control of highly confidential data, the successful candidate will have to make specific commitments in this regard and will be subject to background checks.

by Friday 21st August.

We're not inviting third party recruiters to work with us on this opportunity.
