Freshers’ Social Media Content Creator

Overview

The SU is looking for multiple enthusiastic, confident, and creative students to join our Marketing Team to help support Freshers’ Week.

This role will include creating content over the summer to build up to Freshers’ Week and during the week itself. There is the possibility for this role to continue throughout the rest of the academic year.

• Plan, create, and edit original content for Tik Tok and Instagram Reels.
• Promote Freshers’ Week events, merchandise, and SU spaces.
• Engage with students regularly and encourage participation.
• Be confident on camera and when approaching students.
• Work alongside SU staff, Freshers’ Week Event Managers, and Captains.
• Keep up to date with trends and updates and look out for existing user‑generated content.
• Capture clips for use in longer‑form videos.

• Confident communicators who enjoy engaging with others.
• Skilled in using Tik Tok and Instagram to create fun, relatable, and informative content.
• Friendly, reliable, and proactive.
• Creative and full of ideas.
• People who are quick to react to online trends.
• Able to work evenings and weekends.
• Able to produce content with a quick turnaround.
• Able to follow brand guidelines and requirements.

Hours: Varied

Equipment: You’ll need access to a smartphone capable of capturing and editing short‑form video content. Microphones and selected equipment are available to borrow from the SU Marketing team.

We are seeking candidates who can start remotely in July/August to help build up to Freshers’ Week. Our ideal candidates will be available in Bath from the week before Freshers’ Week through to the end of the week.

There is no deadline for this role, however we will close applications once we have enough, so applying quickly is recommended.
