About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Digital Print Assistant to join a busy Print Services team on a 12-week contract, supporting a strategic project within a leading higher education institution.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in digital print production, reprographics, print finishing or print room operations who enjoys a hands-on role and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Working as part of a professional and customer-focused team, you will be responsible for producing a wide range of printed materials while providing excellent service to customers and ensuring all work is completed accurately and to deadline.
Key Responsibilities- Produce high-quality digital print and finishing work, ensuring customer requirements are met accurately and on time.
- Operate digital print and finishing equipment safely and effectively.
- Prepare, amend and check artwork and print files using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
- Create print-ready files, proofs and layouts for customer approval.
- Provide advice and guidance on print specifications, file formats, paper stocks and finishing options.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain communication with customers throughout the production process.
- Complete finishing activities including binding, trimming, folding and laminating.
- Process card payments and maintain accurate records.
- Carry out routine maintenance of print and finishing equipment, including colour calibration and consumable management.
- Assist with maintaining departmental procedures and documentation.
- Support the wider team as required to ensure service delivery objectives are met.
- At least 1 year's experience within a digital print, print production or reprographics environment.
- Previous customer-facing experience.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Creative Suite products.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Positive, flexible and customer-focused approach.
- Typesetting experience.
- Experience producing mail merges and personalised print materials.
- Knowledge of print finishing equipment and processes.
- Customer service training.
- 12-week contract
- 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)
- Immediate start available
- Based in Bath
