Intensivist Physician , South West England

I’m looking for an experienced Intensivist Physician to cover a minimum of 3 months in South West England.

The position is to start on 3rd October 2022, but the trust is flexible with the start date. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, without on-call duties.

To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Must have experience in Respiratory, Cardiology, or Stroke care
• NHS experience is essential
• Experience with clinics and CCU ward rounds
• Consultations with the Lead can be arranged

The role involves working in an 8-bed CCU shared with Stroke patients, with a maximum of 8 cardiology patients. Typically, rounds are conducted with a registrar or nursing staff if the registrar is unavailable. Responsibilities include documenting in notes and drug charts, and ordering tests such as radiology and blood tests, with nursing staff able to order all cardiology tests.

Clinic hours are from 0900 to 1300 or 1400 to 1700, comprising a mix of new and follow-up patients, following the BCS template. All cardiology conditions are seen except Adult Congenital Heart Disease, which has separate clinics. Support is provided by the Clinical Investigation Department staff.
