Location: Bath
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-time or Part-time, Term-time only (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm)
Contract: Ongoing with the potential for a permanent placement

We are recruiting a Behaviour Support Mentor to work in a secondary school in Bath. This role is ideal for candidates who want to support young people with SEMH needs
, behavioural challenges
, or Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role focuses on helping students aged 11-16 improve their behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement with learning.

If you are looking for a Behaviour Mentor, Behaviour Support Worker, SEMH Support, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Education Support Worker role in Bath, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your experience and build a career in education or psychology.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
  • Support pupils in managing emotions, behaviour and social skills
  • Help students improve focus, motivation and confidence in the classroom
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to de-escalate incidents
  • Adapt approaches to meet individual learning and emotional needs
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to implement support plans
  • Promote positive routines, resilience and consistent boundaries
