- SEMH Students
- September start
- Full-time & long-term position
We work closely with a fantastic special school based in the South of Bath that is looking for a Year 9 SEMH Teaching Assistant to join from September. The school looks after students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
The school is part of a well‑respected trust that continues to grow. Staff who have joined the school permanently report a positive, supportive team culture.
RoleThe TA will support the class teacher with a range of tasks, focusing on 1‑to‑1 support for students who may be struggling. You will be expected to adopt a proactive approach and assist across various Year 9 classes.
Because the students have complex needs you must feel confident working with challenging behaviour. Ideally you have experience in a similar setting, but mainstream TAs who wish to make the transition to special school work are welcomed.
Qualifications• Experience working with SEMH students or in a special educational needs setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a supportive learning environment.
• Good communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with teachers.
