A welcoming and well-resourced mainstream primary school in Bath is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides targeted support for children who may require additional emotional or behavioural guidance while remaining fully integrated within the mainstream classroom environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You may provide 1:1 support or small group assistance, helping pupils regulate emotions, develop positive relationships, and access learning successfully within the primary curriculum.

This rewarding and varied role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children with SEMH needs, or those from backgrounds such as youth work, care, mentoring, behaviour support, or education. The successful candidate will be calm, adaptable, and confident in managing behaviour while maintaining a positive and nurturing approach.
Essential
Skills & Experience:
Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
* A genuine passion for supporting pupils in a mainstream setting
* Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced school environment
