SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism & Speech and Language Needs (Primary School) Bath, Somerset | On-site £14.25 per hour (£90–£100 per day, pro rata) Full-time | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm | Term-time only start date: ASAP or June, with long-term opportunities into September. About the roleYou’ll work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, supporting both learning and communication development.
Key responsibilities- Support pupils with autism and speech and language needs in the classroom
- Use communication strategies such as visual supports, PECS, or Makaton (training provided)
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
- Help pupils develop social skills, communication, and independence
- Provide calm, consistent support to help regulate emotions and behaviour
- Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
You’ll build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them communicate more effectively, engage in learning, and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.
