Every classroom has pupils who need a little extra support to thrive. Some need encouragement. Some need consistency. Others need someone who understands that behaviour is communication.
We're looking for Behaviour Support Assistants to work across a range of SEMH schools, alternative provisions, and specialist settings. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can build trust, stay positive, and help young people navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
You’ll be supporting pupils who may have experienced barriers to education and helping them develop the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to succeed.
What you'll be doing:- Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted role model
- Helping students engage with learning and classroom activities
- Using de-escalation strategies to support positive behaviour
- Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to provide tailored support
- Celebrating progress, no matter how small it may seem
- Has experience working with young people, either in schools, youth work, care, coaching, or support roles
- Can remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Understands the importance of consistency and positive reinforcement

- Anyone with experience supporting young people with additional needs
The impact you make goes far beyond the classroom.
