DescriptionPermanent contract, 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Posted salary is full time equivalent. Interview dates: 25 or 26 June.
Salary ranges:
Unqualified Lecturer Salary (P25-P27 £ 30,348.15 - £32,186.70). Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £ 32,186.70 - £40,015.50).
Purpose of the job – To contribute to the Department’s aim to provide collaborative and exciting high-quality teaching and learning and assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area. - To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
- To deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes including personal development curriculum, enrichment activities and tutor support.
- To deliver on programmes in FE, HE, T Levels and Adult Learning as required by the demands of the curriculum.
- Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
- To co‑ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
- To communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.
- To work proactively towards the development of new programmes and the improvement of courses within the curriculum area, enabling growth and protecting quality of provision.
- To work pro‑actively to forward the success and vision of the department and the College.
- Relevant degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry), Forensic Investigation or a related subject.
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards a teacher qualification Level
5). - GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- Demonstrate e‑literacy and competence in using the Microsoft Office Suite including Teams.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to fulfilling quality assurance requirements of awarding bodies and the College.
- Demonstrate proven evidence of delivering good to outstanding learning experiences.
