Key Stage 2 Teacher Bath

A Key Stage 2 Teacher is required for a full-time role at a primary school in Bath, starting in September and continuing through to February. The position is likely to be based in a Year 4 class. This is a well‑established class with good behaviour, clear routines and strong expectations already in place, supported by a TA. The role includes full planning responsibilities and is paid to scale.

The school places importance on recognising each child as an individual and creates an environment where pupils are encouraged to succeed, both in their learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging KS2 lessons
  • Teach across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) and deliver the wider curriculum (History, Geography, Art, DT, Computing, PE, Music, RE, MFL as appropriate)
  • Set high expectations for progress in literacy, numeracy, writing, reading comprehension, and maths
  • Use a range of resources and teaching strategies to cater for diverse learning needs and different ability levels
  • Mark work and provide constructive feedback to support student progress
  • Manage pupil behaviour in line with each school's behaviour policy
  • Contribute positively to the KS2/Primary department and wider school community
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge across English, Mathematics and Science, plus familiarity with the Primary National Curriculum
  • Confident practitioner with excellent behaviour management skills
  • Experience delivering a broad primary curriculum
  • Experience supporting students with SEND in a primary context
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
