Compensation: £30,348 - £40,015 / year

Permanent contract, 11 hours per week (Tuesday half day and Thursday 8:30 am - 5 pm), 52 weeks per year.

Salary is full time equivalent.

Unqualified Lecturer Salary (P25-P27 £ 30,348.15 - £32,186.70)

Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £ 32,186.70 - £40,015.50)

Key Purpose
- To plan, deliver and evaluate creative and innovative teaching and learning to learners from levels 1-3. To act as course/subject leader as deemed necessary. To adhere to and administrate Health and Safety policies and procedures. To assist in the coordination of recruitment, enrolment and induction of students. To contribute towards the planning and effective running of the curriculum and department.

Additional skills set that would be beneficial to include, Wig knotting and weft weaving, dressing and maintaining a range of hair pieces structures. Prosthetic design, creating and casting for small and large pieces. Bald cap preparation and application skills.

• To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements.
• To deliver, assess and internally verify on a broad range of Hair and Make Up programmes to a wide range of learners using appropriate teaching methods including online delivery
• To deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes
• Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
• To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
• To communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.

• 5 years’ industry salon experience
• A teaching qualification - or willing to work towards
• TAQA /A1 / Assessors Award
