Key purpose: Working within the Careers and Employability team, the post holder will assist in the provision of an effective, inclusive, impartial, aspirational service and Careers related learning programme, working across both college sites where needed. Supporting all leaners, both adults and 16-19 students, on Apprenticeships and courses, including ESOL and T-Level learners, high needs students and external learners, in making informed decisions that reflect their interests, meet their career goals, increasing career confidence and readiness and promoting positive destinations.

Key Responsibilities

To provide an effective and responsive Careers and Employability service and support in the design, implementation and tracking of the Careers related learning programme.

  • Provide a broad and comprehensive service to enable Bath college students and the wider community with information on progression routes into education, training or employment. As well as information and advice on a range of courses available.
  • Play a key role in helping the college maintain high retention figures, enabling and supporting students to progress onto positive destinations.
  • Utilise current, high-quality Labour Market Information (LMI) to inform and guide students and staff effectively.
  • Conduct career meetings through quality face to face, virtual, telephone, email and group career sessions. Offer tailored guidance, fostering informed decision-making, and supporting students and the wider community in progressing toward meaningful education, employment, or training destinations. To signpost service users where necessary to external providers and support networks.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 3 GCSEs (Grade C or above) inc. English Language or equivalent.
  • A level 3 qualification
  • Level 6 qualification in Careers guidance. Working towards or willing to work towards Level 6 qualification in careers guidance.
  • Demonstrate competency across the Microsoft Suite of applications. (including but not limited to Word, Power Points, TEAMs, excel)
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of career, education, and training opportunities at all levels of service users.
  • Demonstrate an ability to use different platforms and research methods to locate relevant information to inform CEIAG.
