Caretaker, Special Needs ​/ Learning Disabilities, Education Administration

The working hours for this role are expected to be10 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The start date for this role isas soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, proactive, and reliable individual to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming school environment. As Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds, ensuring that facilities remain clean, well-presented, and fit for purpose. The role includes carrying out routine repairs, maintaining equipment and heating systems, supporting school events and lettings, and helping to keep outdoor areas safe and accessible throughout the year.

Working closely with staff, contractors, and school leaders, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the site while promoting the wellbeing and safety of all pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will have good practical maintenance skills, a strong understanding of health and safety, and the ability to work independently using their own initiative. You will be highly organised, flexible, and committed to maintaining high standards across all aspects of the school environment.

This role will involve contact with children, and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
