Senior Facade Engineer

We’re looking for someone to join our Façade Engineering team who has a strong technical and practical focus within a passion for façades. This is a unique opportunity to support and expand our Technical Due Diligence service, working on technically demanding projects including the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Battersea Power Station redevelopment, and Stratford Waterfront.
Responsibilities- Serve as a Facades job leader on projects.
- Work within or lead multidisciplinary teams, attending and chairing meetings with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop technical solutions to reach conclusions or recommendations.
- Provide input on bids and work‑winning.
- Support senior staff in delivering design leadership on façade issues.
- Maintain good client relations throughout the job.
- Mentor more junior team members, with potential line‑management responsibilities.
- Solid foundation of façade engineering experience, having worked on-site during installation, opening up works or investigations.
- Familiar with façade detailed drawings; able to identify support / restraint strategy, weather tightness, passive fire, thermal lines, cold bridges, airtightness, and movement / tolerance strategy.
- Proficient in façade performance knowledge – able to identify issues affecting functionality and longevity (weather tightness, thermal insulation, materials).
- Foundational knowledge of façade structural behaviour and ability to identify potential structural issues.
- Experience in handling and fabricating typical cladding materials.
- Academic background in Structural Engineering, MEP Services, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; advanced qualifications such as MSc in Façade Engineering or PhD are highly regarded.
- Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or equivalent registration with ECUK or another appropriate body.
- Experience on international and domestic projects, with willingness to travel to local sites.
- Proactive approach to risk identification, succinct information capture, and comprehensive recommendations.
- Ability to communicate design concepts clearly, in speech and through quality hand sketches or other means.
- Hybrid working – expected to work from office 2–3 days a week.
