Materials Testing Technician

Salary: GBP
30,000 – GBP
40,000 per annum + Vehicle + Benefits + Bonus

Bath, Swindon, Gloucester, Bristol

• You’ll be field based, predominantly covering a region but with further UK travel as needed.
• You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of this testing equipment and instrumentation.
  • Examples include impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, stress, or torsion testing.
• You will be working within a variety of appealing manufacturing sectors including the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries, amongst others.
• You will play an important role in ensuring the equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained to UKAS standards.
• Compile detailed reports as appropriate.
• The field-based nature of the role will require nights away from home; on average of 1–2 per week.

• Knowledge of destructive Materials Testing equipment is essential, specifically on impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, stress, or torsion testing is mandatory.
• Approachable, honest, and a team player.
• A strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 would be beneficial.
• A genuine interest in becoming a field-based service and calibration engineer on materials testing rigs.
• Strong IT and communication skills.
• Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have right to work in the UK as sponsorship can’t be provided.
