Engineering Technician (Contract) – 6 Months

Our client is a healthcare technology and diagnostics company developing innovative point‑of‑care diagnostic platforms. They are looking for an Engineering Technician to join their engineering team on a 6‑month contract, supporting internal development programs and helping resolve reliability issues, trial design improvements, and run tests and experiments alongside scientists and engineers.

• Executing repairs and modifications to equipment and simple mechanical presses
• Analysis of defective equipment
• Product and component testing, including reliability testing
• Developing protocols to commission simple production equipment, including equipment qualification
• Promoting cGMP compliance within a pilot production facility
• Maintaining a set of working instruments for day‑to‑day use

• Graduate in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or BTEC/equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Experience working with mechanical assembly equipment
• Experience with electrical products and a basic understanding of electronics
• Soldering experience, particularly SMD rework
• Fault‑finding and repair experience on production equipment or scientific instruments
• Experience in product testing and failure analysis
• Competent practical skills running and maintaining diverse mechanical test equipment
• Scientific instrumentation experience preferred
• Strong record‑keeping skills
• Self‑motivated, able to work unaided
• Fully computer literate
