Quiz Master

Overview

The Students’ Union Bars is looking for a new Quiz Master to run the highly successful weekly ‘Plug Quiz’ for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quiz master or a charismatic individual eager to create an entertaining and challenging quiz for all student participants.

• Devise and deliver a weekly quiz that entertains and challenges up to 250 participants every Tuesday night from 19:00‑22:30 during term time.
• Present the quiz with confidence and energy in front of the audience.
• Photograph winning teams to post on the Plug Instagram account.
• Film a weekly quiz question to be posted on the Union’s social media every Monday.

• Experience as a quiz master or strong enthusiasm for quizzes and live entertainment.
• Excellent communication and public‑speaking skills.
• Comfortable with using the bar’s A/V equipment to record and edit video content.

You must be available from 19:00‑22:30 every Tuesday during term time. Additionally, you are expected to host the Big Plug Quiz on Tuesday 22 September during Freshers Week and the Post Graduate Quiz on a date to be confirmed.

Rate of pay is £13.45p/h with holiday pay: £15.07.
