Overview
The PET‑CT Service Manager provides a managerial and highly specialist technical service role to the Trust to deliver a safe, highly specialised diagnostic patient service.
Responsibilities• Support the day‑to‑day management of the PET‑CT service and team, including arranging staff rotas, patient bookings, radiopharmaceutical provision and patient administrations.
• Conduct daily equipment QC and manage equipment selection.
• Lead continuous improvement and development of the service through the quality system, which is registered to ISO 9001:2000.
• Act as the lead trainer in PET‑CT, ensuring the team is adequately trained in equipment use, handling of radioactive material, basic life support, and in structured training for new staff or trainees in PET‑CT.
• Work closely with the Service Lead for Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT, the Head of Nuclear Medicine, Technologists, Radiographers in PET and the PET admin team.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for queries from the PET admin team and Nuclear Medicine staff who may have clinical queries.
• Maintain regular clinical presence twice a week, with one day dedicated to administrative work related to managing the service.
• Ensure smooth running of the service throughout its operational hours (Monday to Friday) with a flexible work ethic.
• Registered Radiographer or Clinical Technologist.
• Experience in PET‑CT service management or a related role is desirable.
