A leading independent healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Clinical Services Manager – Pharmacy to lead a hospital pharmacy service in Bath.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a qualified Pharmacist with strong hospital experience and demonstrated leadership capability, either as an established manager or a senior/lead pharmacist ready to step into their first management role.
The RoleAs Clinical Services Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership and strategic direction for the pharmacy department, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality medicines management across both outpatient and inpatient services
, including oncology
.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week across 5 days
, with:
- Saturday working approximately 1 in 3
- On-call responsibility (around 8 days per month, rarely called out)
- Monday to Friday:
8am – 6pm - Saturday:
9am – 1pm
- Leading and managing the pharmacy service, ensuring excellent clinical and operational performance
- Line management of pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy support staff
- Workforce planning and rota management
- Monitoring departmental performance against KPIs, quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring compliance with medicines legislation and regulatory bodies (GPhC, MHRA, CQC)
- Developing, implementing and reviewing pharmacy policies and SOPs
- Overseeing medicines governance, including incident reporting, investigations and root cause analysis
- Driving audits, quality improvement initiatives and service development
- Supporting and developing electronic prescribing as a key focus area
The pharmacy team includes pharmacists, technicians and assistants, with access to specialist oncology pharmacy support.
About YouTo be considered (
Clinical Services Manager), you will have:
- GPhC registration as a Pharmacist
- Hospital pharmacy experience (essential)
- Demonstrated leadership experience (this may include senior/lead roles with management responsibility)
- Strong knowledge of medicines legislation, governance frameworks and clinical standards
- Understanding of GPhC professional standards and CQC requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Experience leading audits, investigations and service improvements
- Salary from £65,000 per annum
