You’ll be part of a highly skilled, welcoming team that includes Ophthalmologists, Associate Specialists, Optometrists, Optometry Technicians and Orthoptists -- all passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and helping each other grow.

Main duties of the job

As an Optometry Technician
, you’ll play a key role in supporting our clinical teams across the RUH Eye Clinic and Frome Medical Practice. Day‑to‑day, you’ll learn to carry out a variety of important eye‑health tests and assessments, such as:

  • Measuring visual acuity
  • Completing visual field tests
  • Capturing retinal and anterior chamber images
  • Performing OCT (optical coherence tomography) scans
  • Supporting biometry measurements

You’ll also help with essential administrative tasks, working closely with our Senior Optometry Technicians to keep our clinics running smoothly.
