What you will do

• Responsible for sample preparation and reagent preparation following department standard operating procedures.
• Prepare specimens by opening them ready for consultant cut up for the following day according to protocol.
• Address and resolve technical problems as they arise, reporting appropriately.
• Advise and liaise with non-departmental staff, such as clinicians, theatre staff, GPs, and staff in other Trusts, regarding the proper collection and handling procedures of patients’ biopsies.
• Participate in all laboratory processes, including embedding, microtomy, and more, to support workload and maintain workflow.
