Join us in the vibrant city of Bath for an exciting opportunity as a Band 5/6 Anatomical Pathology Technician, also known as a Mortuary Technician. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team on a full-time basis for a three-month locum position, offering an attractive rate of up to £32.00 per hour. This position combines the unique challenge of managing day-to-day mortuary operations with working alongside our committed team and enhancing your skills in a prime UK location.

What you will do
  • Supervise and organise the smooth day-to-day running of the mortuary.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Work closely with the Technical Manager and Head of Service to optimise performance and maintain quality standards.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Maintain and enhance your professional knowledge and technical skills through continuous development.
  • Conduct annual staff appraisals, identifying development needs and monitoring performance.
  • Maintain accurate mortuary records and databases.
  • Monitor and order stock levels of reagents and consumables using the Unit4 system.
  • Allocate workloads effectively across the mortuary team.
Requirements
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
