Job Description & How to Apply Below

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our experienced therapy team on the Acute Stroke Unit at the Royal United Hospital.

Our specialist service is supported by an excellent team of stroke consultants, specialist nurses, and AHPs who are passionate about delivering high-quality care for our local population. The therapy team provides comprehensive assessment, early rehabilitation, and supports ongoing recovery planning.

The Acute Stroke Unit provides hyperacute and acute care to stroke patients admitted to the RUH. The stroke therapy team provides comprehensive assessment and early rehabilitation and identifies specialist pathways for ongoing stroke rehabilitation.

The RUH offers the opportunity to work in a progressive and friendly integrated Therapies department. This role will allow the advancement of clinical skills and knowledge, whilst developing essential leadership skills. You'll gain experience in Supervision, recruitment and service development - enabling you to build your skills and confidence in a supportive environment.

If you're a self-motivated, forward-thinking Occupational Therapist who is looking to join an Adult Therapies Team, we want to hear from you.

You will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and intervention to patients on the acute stroke unit to optimise independence as well as creating rehabilitation plans as appropriate. You will also provide and promote acute rehabilitation to patients on the acute stroke unit.

You will provide daily clinical management of Occupational Therapy staff and some junior Physiotherapy staff working with their rotational team and provide supervision to occupational therapy students and apprentices.

You will have clinical autonomy and be responsible for the management of their own caseload, have an awareness of the caseload demands within the whole rotational therapy team and allocate clinical capacity according to service demands. This will enable you to co-ordinate the daily service delivery across the hospital in the most effective way.
