Job Overview

Are you an experienced clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering safe, high-quality patient care? We are looking for a Clinical Site Manager to play a pivotal role in leading operational and clinical services across our hospital site.

As a visible and influential leader, you will work at the heart of hospital operations, ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. You'll coordinate patient flow across the organisation, overseeing admissions, transfers and discharges while supporting effective bed management and capacity planning.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, senior clinicians and operational colleagues, you will provide expert decision-making and leadership during both routine operations and periods of escalation. You will help maintain patient safety, support efficient service delivery and contribute to an exceptional patient experience.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident and proactive healthcare professional who can balance operational demands with clinical priorities, make sound decisions under pressure and inspire others through visible leadership.

We're seeking an experienced healthcare professional with excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills. You need to be confident working in a dynamic environment, able to manage competing priorities and committed to delivering outstanding care and operational excellence.

Main duties of the job

  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers and discharges in accordance with Trust policies and agreed pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams and external partners to facilitate timely patient flow.
  • Promote a patient-centred approach to care, ensuring patients and carers are appropriately involved in decision-making.
  • Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Support implementation of the Trust Bed Management Policy and Procedures.
  • Work with the Emergency Department and inpatient areas to support safe and timely patient movement.
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external escalation processes.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all clinical and operational teams.
  • Identify barriers to patient flow and work with teams to develop and implement solutions.
  • Support effective use of Trust bed capacity and liaise with partner organisations as required.
  • Respond appropriately to major incidents, fire alerts, cardiac arrests and security incidents in accordance with Trust procedures. [
  • Provide operational advice and support to clinical teams outside normal working hours.
