We're excited to be recruiting 2 x Paralegals to join our busy and highly collaborative Commercial & Legal Team here at Buro Happold. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to apply and grow their legal knowledge in a global, forward-thinking engineering and consultancy environment.

About The Role:

As a Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our Commercial & Legal Team, working at the heart of the business to ensure smooth and effective operational delivery. You’ll be part of a team of commercial and legal experts, gaining exposure to a wide range of work across projects, business units, and internal functions.

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail‑focused and eager to learn, with the confidence to communicate across teams and manage sensitive information with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with project teams to arrange the execution of construction-related agreements, including Appointments, Collateral Warranties, Novation Agreements and Sub‑Consultancy arrangements.
  • After training, input key contract clause information into our online project management system to support senior reporting.
  • Interpret legal documents and produce clear summaries for the team.
  • Draft, review and negotiate simple commercial agreements, NDAs and reliance letters.
  • Support procurement-related contract matters.
  • Conduct ad‑hoc research tasks as required.
  • Provide administrative support, including document formatting, scanning, filing and maintaining records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as IT, HR, Finance and Marketing to help coordinate operational activities.
  • Ensure documents and files are correctly maintained and project documentation is completed on time.
What We Are Looking For :

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents.
  • Relevant experience in a legal, commercial, or compliance environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail and a natural ability to plan and prioritise.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to analyse and interpret information effectively.
  • A commercial and cultural awareness of how the business operates, and the ability to translate this into practical support for the team.
