Set on the banks of the River Avon in the beautiful Roman city of Bath and within walking distance to all the city's sites and attractions.
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Hotel Handyman to join the team at Double Tree by Hilton Bath.
The successful candidate will have strong general property maintenance and repair skills and will play an important role in ensuring that the hotel, its bedrooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
This role will focus on both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring that maintenance issues are identified and resolved efficiently to provide a safe, comfortable and high-quality environment for our guests and colleagues.

The role requires someone who will be hands‑on with repair and general maintenance. You will meet time deadlines, liaise with contractors and take responsibility for health and safety on the property. The right candidate, therefore, must be organised, a good communicator, and a hands‑on manager.
Key Responsibilities Planned Preventative Maintenance- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with the hotel's maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest bedrooms, public areas, back‑of‑house areas and hotel facilities.
- Identify potential maintenance issues before they develop into larger problems.
- Complete routine maintenance tasks to maintain the condition, appearance and functionality of the property.
- Maintain accurate records of completed preventative maintenance and outstanding works.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of preventative maintenance schedules.
- Carry out a wide range of general maintenance and repair work across the hotel.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests from guest bedrooms, public areas and back‑of‑house departments.
- Undertake basic repairs relating to plumbing, electrical fixtures, carpentry, decorating and general building maintenance within the scope of the role and individual competence.
- Repair or replace fixtures, fittings, furniture and equipment where required.
- Carry out minor painting and decorating work to maintain the appearance of the hotel.
- Diagnose maintenance faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Escalate specialist or complex repairs to the Maintenance Manager or approved external contractors where necessary.
- Ensure guest bedrooms are maintained to a high standard and that maintenance issues are resolved efficiently to minimise any impact on the guest experience.
