Machine Shop Shift Lead

Overview

We're looking for an experienced Shift Leader to oversee our clients CNC machine shop operations, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and meets quality standards. You'll lead a team, drive performance, and support continuous improvement.

Reporting to:
Manufacturing Manager
Shift: Triple (Nights, Lates & Earlies)

• Lead daily shift operations to meet production and quality targets
• Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance
• Manage and support Team Leaders, including labour allocation and performance
• Conduct shift briefings and maintain a visible shop floor presence
• Oversee workflow, job prioritisation, and machine utilisation
• Support training, development, and performance reviews
• Resolve production issues and elevate maintenance concerns
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce downtime (OEE)
• Ensure accurate job bookings and production records
• Maintain high housekeeping and audit standards

• CNC machining background (essential)
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Good communication and team leadership ability
• Computer literate
