Job Overview

William Budd is a 22‑bed mixed‑gender haematology and oncology ward within the brand‑new, purpose‑built Dyson Cancer Centre. We look after patients who are undergoing intensive chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, stem cell transplantation, symptom management, and end‑of‑life care. We are a dynamic and passionate team striving for excellence in patient safety and experience. We have achieved silver ward accreditation and are working towards gold.

We seek newly qualified or experienced nurses who would like to develop their oncology/haematology knowledge and skill within a fast‑paced environment.

• Maintain high standards of nursing care and ensure nursing objectives are achieved using a systematic approach.
• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised patient‑centred care and provide support and advice to other staff as appropriate.
• Receive patients and their relatives in accordance with recognised policies and ensure they are kept informed of treatment and progress.
• Arrange the care of patients’ property in accordance with unit policies and within the limitations of hospital responsibilities.
• Supervise and support the educational needs of junior staff, including Nurse Associates and Health Care Support Workers.

• Registered Nurse

• Experience of working in oncology or qualification in oncology – haematology

• Insight into working in oncology / haematology

• Demonstrating desire to develop within oncology / haematology speciality
