Staff Nurse - Robin Smith Ward (Surgery) at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust. Robin Smith ward is a 28‑bed unit providing care to patients requiring elective and urgent surgical assessment and treatment. The ward specializes in general and elective surgery with a high patient turnover. The unit operates 24 hours a day, delivering safe, effective, and patient‑centred care with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

• Act as a Named Nurse
  , maintaining professional accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care within a team‑nursing framework.
• Coordinate patients’ discharge arrangements in line with the RUH Discharge Policy, ensuring safe, timely, and well‑planned transitions of care.
• Promote a patient‑focused approach in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, prioritising dignity, choice, and compassion.
• Support and educate patients and their carers, providing clear information to help them make informed decisions and adopt healthier lifestyles where appropriate.
• Ensure all patient documentation is completed accurately and in line with Trust standards, while maintaining confidentiality.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and well‑organised ward/department environment, develop and monitor protocols and care pathways, and promote effective communication across the team.

• NMC registered
• Surgical experience
