Job Overview
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic and highly supportive Emergency Department nursing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse with a strong Emergency Department background who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care in a fast‑paced and challenging environment.
Qualifications and Experience- Significant experience working as a Registered Nurse, ideally within an Emergency Department setting.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
- A passion for delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
- The ability to thrive in a busy and constantly evolving environment.
- Leading and coordinating patient care within a busy Emergency Department.
- Supporting patient flow and discharge planning in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
- Promoting a patient‑centred approach and delivering high standards of evidence‑based care.
- Providing education, advice, and support to patients, families, and carers.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
- Acting to create and maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment.
- Supporting the implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior staff, students, and healthcare support workers.
- Acting as a role model for excellent communication, professionalism, and compassionate care.
- Relevant clinical experience at Band 5.
- Thorough and up‑to‑date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice, particularly within specialty area and the application of this in practice.
- Registered Nurse Part 1, 2, 12.
- State Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
- Emergency Care qualification or equivalent evidenced experience.
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
- Teaching qualification.
- Post‑registration training preferably in specialty area – APLS, ALS, TNCC/ATLS.
- Diploma or Degree in a relevant area.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
