Position: Lifeguard - Babington House (Part-Time)

At Soho House, a Lifeguard is a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment in our pool and wet areas. Your primary responsibility is the safety of all members and guests using the pool, while also upholding the club’s premium service and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the pool area, maintaining constant vigilance to prevent accidents and respond swiftly to emergencies.
  • Enforce pool rules and etiquette to ensure the safety and comfort of all users.
  • Perform regular safety checks and maintain equipment such as rescue tubes, pool cleaning gear, and first aid supplies.
  • Administer First Aid, CPR, or emergency response as required.
  • Monitor water quality and report any irregularities to management or maintenance.
  • Ensure all wet areas, including pool deck, showers, and locker rooms, are clean, organised, and well‑maintained.
  • Provide courteous, professional service to members and guests always.
  • Report maintenance issues, incidents, or unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
  • Support wellness or swim programming where appropriate (e.g., lane allocation, assisting instructors).
What we are looking for...

A successful Lifeguard for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high‑profile venue and a natural flair for first class service. You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.

Qualifications
  • Valid and up-to-date Lifeguard Certification (e.g., RLSS, NPLQ, or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Previous experience in a leisure club, spa, hotel, or fitness facility is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, confident presence under pressure
  • Professional appearance, punctuality, and a customer‑focused attitude
