The University of Bath is seeking to recruit two Research Policy Managers to join our Research Policy Governance and Integrity team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and implement institutional research policies that uphold legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
About the role- Develop and implement research policies and procedures at institutional level.
- Provide clear guidance to researchers on external legislation affecting research (eg Human Tissue Act).
- Conduct in-depth analysis to inform evidence-based policy development.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across the University to embed best practices.
- Lead communications strategies around research governance and integrity.
- Support training and engagement activities to ensure policy understanding and compliance.
- Ethics review process
- Research integrity and misconduct investigations
- Trusted Research and export controls
- Training and support for researchers
- Strategic policy development and compliance monitoring
- Proven experience in policy development, ideally within research management or a similarly complex regulatory environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and present it clearly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for being part of a supportive, high-performing team.
- A proactive, self-starting approach—comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and driving forward initiatives.
- A commitment to ethical standards, equality, and inclusive working practices.
- Familiarity with research compliance and governance frameworks.
A postgraduate qualification and experience in collaborative or cross-institutional initiatives are desirable.
Further informationThis is a full-time role, working 36.5 hours per week, for a fixed-term period of 2 years.
We support hybrid working, with an expectation of 2–3 days per week on campus. Flexibility is required during peak periods, and occasional attendance may be requested for meetings or events.
