Social Worker – Safeguarding / Child Protection Team – Bath & North East Somerset

Role:
Full-time, Initial 3-month contract, Office based/community working (hybrid element).

Join a busy Safeguarding / Child Protection Team within Bath & North East Somerset Council. Work includes Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Court work.

You will be part of a safeguarding team supporting children and families through statutory social work interventions, ensuring strong safeguarding practice and positive outcomes for children and young people.

• Manage a caseload of CIN, CP and Court work
• Undertake assessments and safeguarding interventions
• Progress child protection and legal processes
• Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies
• Contribute to care planning and court proceedings
• Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing remain central to practice

• Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
• Experience in safeguarding / child protection work
• Court experience desirable
• Strong assessment and report writing skills
• Ability to manage complex caseloads
• Must have access to a vehicle (rural locality coverage)

This role is based partly in the Keynsham office with an expectation of regular office attendance alongside community-based work. Bath & North East Somerset includes rural areas, therefore access to a vehicle is essential.
