About the Role
This is a newly created onsite position supporting a federal customer in Bath, ME. The Avaya Telecom Technician will manage daily operations of a legacy Avaya Voice PBX environment, voicemail systems, and Audio Codes equipment. The role requires onsite presence, safety-compliant attire, and work within a secure federal facility.
Job SummaryThe Avaya Telecom Technician is responsible for the daily administration, maintenance, and support of legacy Avaya PBX systems, voicemail platforms, and Audio Codes integrations. The role performs cross‑connects, punch downs, cable pulls when needed, and provides full programming and configuration support across the voice environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Daily administration of legacy Avaya Voice PBX systems
- Build and configure extensions in PBX and voicemail
- Support Audio Codes routing and configurations as needed
- Perform punch downs and cross‑connect work
- Assist with cable pulls when required
- Deploy, relocate, and configure desk phones
- Troubleshoot handset and VoIP issues
- Program, update, and maintain Avaya telecom environments
- Adhere to federal safety and compliance requirements
- Experience with legacy Avaya PBX systems, voicemail, and Audio Codes
- Ability to complete physical telecom tasks (punch downs, cross‑connects, cable pulls)
- Strong troubleshooting and programming skills in voice environments
- Ability to work onsite in a safety‑regulated federal facility
- Background check and drug test required
- Hard hat, safety glasses, and steel‑toe shoes required
- PPE provided onsite
- Dress code: jeans with no holes and a plain long‑sleeve shirt with no writing or logos
