An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer within the Roads and Transportation service leading the Structures team. Working as a key member of the Roads and Transportation service you will assist the Design Engineering Manager deliver one of the key functions of the service.

Responsible for the leadership of day-to-day activities of road-related structures dealing with the design of new works, general and principal condition assessments and design of maintenance activities for bridges and other roads-related structures.

Applicants require to be registered with the Engineering Council at Chartered Engineer level, have knowledge and experience of bridges and other roads-related structures, project management skills with a working knowledge of contract management and well-developed communication skills with the ability to manage multiple demands under pressure and meet targets.

A working knowledge of H&S legislation and a high degree of understanding relating to frontline risk management and experience of managing a team, although not essential, is desirable.
