As the Global Transportation Manager
, you will support Clinical Supplies Global Transportation, Supply Chain, and third-party courier operations across Catalent’s Clinical Supplies Services (CSS) business, with a focus on UK and European sites.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners, you will develop and implement transportation solutions that ensure the compliant, timely, and cost-effective delivery of clinical trial materials worldwide. You will collaborate with Operations, Project Management, and Business Development teams to manage courier relationships, optimize transportation performance, and drive continuous improvement across the global network.

Role to be site based at either our Dartford, Swindon or Bathgate facilities.

- Partner with Operations, Project Management, and Business Development teams to design and implement transportation solutions for clinical supply projects.
- Act as the subject matter expert for global transportation, logistics, and import/export activities, providing guidance to Business Development and Client Services teams.
- Manage strategic relationships with third-party courier and logistics providers to support global distribution requirements.
- Lead and participate in courier governance reviews, driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Advise internal stakeholders on shipment requirements, transportation strategies, courier selection, and global trade considerations.
- Conduct transportation cost analysis, benchmarking, and modelling to support project proposals and customer solutions.
- Support proposal development, customer meetings, and commercial discussions by providing transportation and logistics expertise.
- Collaborate with Procurement on courier contract negotiations and lead cross-functional transportation and supply chain initiatives as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in global transportation, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Knowledge of global import/export regulations and transportation networks.
- Experience working with third-party logistics and courier providers.
- Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-regulated environments.
- Strong project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a global matrix organisation.
- Proactive transportation and logistics professional with experience supporting global pharmaceutical or clinical supply chains.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven ability to deliver customer-focused transportation solutions in a complex, regulated environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Catalent sites and customer locations.
- With nearly 25 years of experience, our Bathgate location in Scotland, UK is an integral part of Catalent’s European clinical supply services network. This 141,000 sq. ft. facility has a comprehensive range of capabilities to support sponsors’ studies throughout the UK, Europe and beyond, including clinical supply management, Fast Chain demand-led supply, clinical-scale commercial packaging, and QP release services.
- Our facility is well-equipped to manage cold chain requirements, with storage environments including 15 to 25°C, 2 to 8°C,
-15 to
-25°C, and
-40 to
